So that I can make sure the photos I use on my magazine are good quality, fit my genre, and suit the magazine, I need to research how to take a good photo. to do his I have looked at Kodak's "top ten tips for great pictures". as Kodak is a photography company I know that their advice will be correct and I can then change it to suit what I am doing.
Kodak's "Top Ten Tips for Great Pictures" are as follows, but I have only taken a few to change for my benefit:
1. EYE CONTACT
If the subject is looking directly into the camera lens it looks like they are making eye contact with the audience which makes it more personal
2. BACKGROUND
I have covered background use in a previous post, but now I think I will use a plain background for all of my photos as it keeps the band as the focus of the image.
3. LIGHTING
Bright lighting/flash is important as otherwise the image could turn out fuzzy or bad quality.
4. MOVE IN CLOSE
Keeps the focus on the band only and fills the page with the most important item (the band)
5. FOCUS
Again, focus is needed to keep the background as the least important factor and the people as the most important.
