Features of school magazine covers

Many schools have magazines written by students that update schools on what is happening in and around the school. As each school is different, so is each magazine and they all have many different features between them. Features such as this include:

• Headshot covering the background/large background image
• Large heading in bold letters
• A colour scheme- these can relate to the school's colours or just be its own theme for the magazine
• Subheadings- smaller versions of the main title, but portraying the headings of each article to interest the readers
• Photos of students- sometimes used to showcase what the students are doing in terms of activities
• Fonts- headings different fonts to subheadings and writing
• Focus around school events- as they are school-orientated magazines, events can be the main subject matter of the issues
• Theme- eg science department-themed
• School logos- indicates what school the magazine belongs to
• Prices- schoolchild-friendly prices
• Layout- simple to understand
• Audience- obviously shown
• Variety- of subject matter within the magazine
